Growing A Beard: Facial Hair, Length, Shaving And Trimmers

Growing a beard is easy; just don't do anything to keep facial hair from growing, like shaving. Facial hair is a secondary sexual characteristic for males, so a male must be producing testosterone to grow a beard. Even a female who is given testosterone injections will grow a beard. Conventional wisdom says that a beard should be allowed to grow for about four weeks before any trimming is attempted; however, sometimes it is easier to shave under the chin right from the start to save stubble wear on collared shirts. One good way to start growing a beard without getting a lot of flack about not shaving it is to start it on vacation. By the time vacation is over the beard should fill in nicely.
